Obituary for Celia V. Baldwin

Celia V. Baldwin, 95, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Vinton Lutheran Home due to complications of age.
    Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2008, at Russell Funeral Home in Vinton with Pastor Larry Davis officiating.  Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Sunday, March 30, also at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
    Celia was born November 25, 1912, in the Cherry Box neighborhood of Macon County, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Presley and Marcella Venora Fugate Hall.  She attended country school in Missouri, riding her horse, Beauty, daily.
    On July 20, 1929, Celia was united in marriage with David Olin Baldwin in Macon County.  During their marriage, Celia worked as a homemaker and farm wife.  Olin preceded her in death on July 8, 1998.  
    Celia was a 60-year member of the Vinton Assembly of God.  She was active in the church as a Sunday School teacher, Board member and pianist. 
    Celia is survived by one son, Edwin (Beverly) Baldwin of La Porte City; five daughters: Faye (Bill) Cummings and Nola (Alvin) Lindahl, all of Vinton; Joan (Don) Anders of Newhall, Pat (Larry) Davis of Des Moines, and Mardene (Gary) Schulke of Flagstaff, AZ; special friend Earl Stahr of Vinton; sister-in-law Lucille Hall of Macon, MO; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
